GIVING TUESDAY 2020

Edgebrook Lutheran Church will be participating in #GivingTuesday
and we need your help!

By joining the GivingTuesday movement, you’re proving that in times of uncertainty, generosity can bring the whole world together. ELC has been incredibly generous throughout the pandemic and needs your help with the expected and unexpected joys of ministry and mission in God’s church.

Our goal is to raise $60,000 between now and the end of the year, and your generosity during #GivingTuesday demonstrates God’s faithfulness and abundance among us and shows that ELC has made a difference in your life. So what difference can you make right now and for the future?

Your gifts during #GivingTuesday make a difference, and the impact of your gift can be DOUBLED for #GivingTuesday thanks to the $5000 matching gift from Marti Corcoran at Coldwell Banker and another anonymous donor with a matching gift of $5000.

Here is how you can get ready to give:

  1. Mark your calendar for December 1st, and check out our generosity videos posted each day along the way — here and on our Facebook page.

  2. Give. Between now and on December 1, go to edgebrooklutheran.org/donate and give generously. You can also give by text message 773-757-5166 or by sending in a check to the church office. You can also give by participating with our partner organizations in these ways
    - Order or pick-up a toy for the Toys for Tots drive in the church parking lot on Saturday, December 5th from 10am-1pm,
    sponsored by the Boy Scout Troop 957.
    - Raise money for New Hope Community Food Pantry by signing up for the Virtual Turkey Trot

  3. Spread the word. Encourage your friends and family to join you in creating real impact on December 1 by sharing what our mission means to you and why you support our Edgebrook Lutheran Church . Make sure to use hashtag #GivingTuesday and tag us so we can share!

This year, we're answering the question, why do you give?

For many, we give out of thankfulness and gratitude for what God has already given us and what God has done. 
We also give because of what God is yet to do, knowing the best is yet to come.

We want to give because there are still memories to be made and stories to be shared of what God has done.
We want to be generous because God is calling Edgebrook Lutheran Church to respond and make room for what is to come.

Due to the uncertainty brought on by the pandemic, it will help our congregation accurately plan our ministry for 2021
when you indicate what you plan to give next year with our commitment card.
